FireFighter Mike Southworth to run for Senate in the 14th Senatorial District. Local leaders from
West Haven and Milford spoke to the unique ties which Southworth has to the district and how
impactful his service has been to local communities.

State Representative Charles Ferraro placed Southworth’s name into nomination citing the need
for proven leadership and an experienced voice to represent West Haven in Hartford.

“As a first responder, Mike is a qualified leader in the community,” said Rep. Ferraro. “Mike
will roll up his sleeves and will fight for the residents of the 14th District. He is committed to
helping those in need and making our state a more affordable place to live, work and retire.
Milford Alderman Ray Vitali seconded the nomination stressing the candidate’s strong ties to the
city.

“Mike understands the needs of each community in the 14th district,” said Milford Alderman
Ray Vitali. “Mike knows Milford well and will be here for the residents and business owners of
Milford. We need a State Senator who isn’t a rubber stamp and who will challenge the status quo
